Fiesta de Fin de Año (New Year’s Eve)

December 31, 2015

In Mexico, New Year’s Eve celebrations typically include eating 12 grapes, one with each chime of the clock during the midnight countdown, or wearing red underwear (see link below for more).

People wish one another “Prospero Año Nuevo” or “Feliz Año Nuevo.”

Fiesta de Fin de Año (New Year’s Eve) is considered a religious holiday/festivity day, not a state holiday.
