San Pancho offers an exciting dining venue… right beside their Polo Field!

This past Saturday, amidst the lovely decor, wooden plank flooring, immense outdoor chandelier and elegantly dressed wait staff, a very tasty a la carte 3 course meal was served.

The local club hosted a special match – “The Friendship Cup” which saw Team Riviera Nayarit win, via their handicap, against Team La Patrona. With no entrance fee to view the matches (there were 2) the special evening price of 400 pesos per person also included live music, Azteca horses, a mariachi band (to which the horses danced to), and a flamenco dancer who danced in sync with Bella the horse and her rider.

Upon our arrival we first toured the stable area (how tidy!) and were able to pet the Polo ponies that were being tacked up (lots of gear!), chatted with several riders, and then we met with Pablo Braunschweig the instructor/trainer of the Club. He very enthusiastically explained about their riding lessons, their breeding program, a driving program with Friesian horses and about their nearby ranch where most of the off-field work is done.

As horses were led out onto the field we crossed back to the dining area, took the stairs to the upper level dining area, were seated one row back from the rail, our drinks were served and the first match began. A very worthwhile event.
