Nayarit Surf Report

Check local ocean conditions, wind direction, tides and currents to find the perfect beach for your surfing experience level. Here are four of the most popular surfing spots:

Stoner Point Break (San Blas): This is an exposed point break that has quite consistent surf. Strictly for the advanced surfer. Summer offers the best conditions with the southern swells. Located between the beaches at El Borrego and Matanchen in San Blas. Rarely crowded here.

Las Islitas (Mantanchen Bay): Las Islitas is quite exposed point/jetties break, but offers the longest wave in the region. It’s very straightforward and you can ride it for almost an entire kilometer. At some point it was listed as the longest wave in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records. At its peak, this wave is over two kilometers long and spans the bay at Matanchen.

Sayulita: This is a great beach for beginners all the way to pros, since it has three different breaks coming in from the left, the right and a special section for learners. Learn more about Sayulita.

Punta Burros (Punta de Mita): This exposed reef break has reliable surf. Winter is the favored time of year for surging in this location. Ideal for longboards. Punta Burros can get crowded during the season.
