3 Reviews on “Casa de los Abuelos”

    1. :

We are a family of 3 + 3 other teenagers and we rented the house during spring break last year. We had an amazing time visiting the area and going to the beach wich is very nice sand and not too rough water. We used the pool everyday and the teens were happy to chill on the 2 nd floor terrace! The house was well equipped and in good shape.

I rented the " casa de los Abuelos" for 2 weeks and we had a wonderful time ! The house is pleasant and airy, has it's own pool and is a short walk to the beach, which is nice and, a ways down the beach, has many small restaurants and food vendors. The village is a small, typical Mexican village of this area with only a couple of paved streets and mostly dirt roads, but has it's own charm despite a swampy area on the way to the house. I found the house quite clean. The area has some very good restaurants and is a short drive away from Rincon de Guyabitos, a larger village with many tourist attractions. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

My husband and I rented the casa for the month of March, We were met by the caretaker on arrival and shown around the casa and shown how to work the remotes for the TV- he then left, saying he would be back the next day. As we explored our home for the next month we started to notice that the casa did not look as if it had been cleaned . Bottles in the bogega, dirty laundry in the washing machine, garbage container in courtyard full of bottles, floors were dirty, ant the BBQ was beyond repair. As the caretaker didn't come the next day, we swept all the floors, brushed area rugs, changed one set of sheets that smelt and looked dirty. there was sand all over the couches. There was animal dropping in upstairs bathroom. When we spoke to the caretaker on day three, he said the house had been cleaned and was quite offended by our statement. We left on Day 5 and moved to another town.. We have been to Mexico multiple times and have never been in such a grubby residence. I notified the owners by email on March 7th 2017 after our departure and I still am waiting for a response. I understand that this was the first year of renting out the casa and I hope they resolve these issues for future renters. We will not be able to recommend this place as it stands right now
