Sunset is one of my favorite times of day. We had just arrived, and headed to the beach in Rincón de Guayabitos. when the clouds and sun started playing with each other, and I was lucky enough to get one exposure that was wonderful.
The secret to getting a good picture is to underexpose and it now costs nothing to bracket (that is over and under expose). Most cameras will do this for you if you ask them nicely. Just look for bracket in the instructions. You might even try one of the HDR programs to blend the exposures and get lots more punch.
