Geri de Moss, aka “The Barbie Lady,” will be arriving in Guayabitos on November 20th. Geri is in need of good gently used Barbie dolls, which will be reconditioned by Santa’s elf volunteers. They will be given to the local children at various locations and events during the Christmas holiday. The final total of donations last year was 845 and they would like to see if they could get a 1,000 this year.
Geri was contacted by a group of occupational therapy students at a college in New York who are collecting dolls, beanie babies and boy toys for her as their community project for this year. Geri and three of her lady volunteers are knitting and crocheting outfits for the dolls. They can also use any of the ready made clothes that may come with the dolls, if they are in good condition. Several barbie dressing parties will be scheduled once she get settled.
