Over 75 people attended the Taste of Lo de Marcos event this past Sunday, March 16 at the El Centro de Fiestas de Los Delfines in Lo de Marcos in the Riviera Nayarit. The event was organized to raise funds for the Amigos de Lo de Marcos organization which supports local causes including the recycle center, spay and neuter clinics, medical clinic, schools and compost center.
The 4-hour event was a lot of fun for the vendors and attendees. For $20 pesos, attendees enjoyed a taste from one of the food preparers of this fine pueblo. The event generated over $3,000 pesos, which then flowed through the pueblo of Lo de Marcos and included a donation to Amigos de Lo de Marcos A.C. and La Casa de los Niños.
Luis Armando Contreras Galván, event organizer and sponsor and broker for Galván Real Estate and Services, is pleased to support the fine work of the Amigos group and to promote the unparalleled and unspoiled beauty of Lo de Marcos, where he has selected to call home. Luis Armando stated “The event was amazingly rewarding and I really want to thank the restaurants and attendees for making this event a success for the entire community.”
Lo de Marcos is a small town located in the Bahia de Banderas with a full-time population of less than 3,000 that swells during high season to about 6,000 people. The area is blessed with a long, wide stretch of near-perfect beach. There is a river outflow on the north end of the beach near the Tlaquepaque RV Park and Resort, and tidal pools at the south end. Humpback whales are commonly seen from the beach. Lo de Marcos is built around a central natural wetland where turtles, waterfowl and other wildlife can be spotted.
