New Toll Road from Jala to Puerto Vallarta is Well Underway

Almost 30 kilometers of the new toll highway from Jala to Puerto Vallarta have been completed, as announced by Federico Días Avalos, Nayarit’s delegate for Mexico’s Communications and Transportations Secretary, and published in an article written by Rafael Delgado for the Vallarta Opina. This new stretch of highway, that has been on the drawing board for 10 years, will help to connect Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta with access points close to Compostela, Las Varas, Rincón de Guayabitos, El Monteon and Bucerias.

For unknown reasons, the government has been careful not to disclose the exact route nor the estimated timetable for completion.

The total cost of the 130 Km highway is projected to be approximately $11.4 billion pesos.

hope fully there will be less traffic on the 200. I have friends that are afraid of the drive through the mountains and love Guayabitos but are in no hurry to come back because of that stretch of road.
