Tiki and his wife Sonia re-opened the doors to Las Brisas Restaurant on Saturday afternoon for the first time since May 20th. They decided to do a complete remodel almost exactly 6 months ago in part due to the work being done on the new malecón in La Peñita.
Tiki knew he needed to do something radical since he lost the use of his beachside seating. The decision to add a second floor overlooking the malecón and reclaim the ocean view was a good one. Sunsets are even more spectacular from the newly built second floor. The creatively designed roof is made of heavy-duty tubular steel and white canvas. It is designed to withstand high winds while providing shelter from the sun and rains and it makes for a very open and welcoming atmosphere.
This Wednesday, November 27, Tiki will be offering a limited menu along with music by Manuel & Friends from 5-8pm. On the menu will be a choice of 1) Mexican Plate with Arrachera Steak, Chile Relleno, Chorizo-Stuffed Quesadilla accompanied by guacamole and beans or 2) Shrimp & Cheese-Stuffed Chicken Breast served with vegetables and rice. Both of these dishes are $100 pesos each. Also available will be Tiki’s very popular chicken wings and other appetizers. The view and the sunsets are free.
The official Grand Re-Opening at Las Brisas Restaurant will be held on Saturday, November 30 from 2-10pm or so. Music will be provided by Manuel & Friends and Adan with his karaoke machine. Tiki will serve a buffet priced at $120 pesos and includes 1 cocktail. The buffet will include BBQ ribs, shrimp, chicken or beef fajitas, and Kahlua shrimp all served with rice, veggies and mashed potatoes.
Las Brisas will resume its new regular hours of 8am to 10pm after the grand opening.
