Ejidio, owner of El Gigio Italian Pizzeria in La Peñita, and his mother Comi Dolores, who is in town from Italy, are offering four special cooking classes in Italian cuisine during the month of February. Last season’s classes were incredibly popular, so these upcoming classes should sell out quickly.
Here is the Class Schedule:
Class 1: Pasta Fresca – CANCELLED
Tuesday, February 5
Learn how to make fresh pasta including Gnocchi, Lasagna, Tagliatelle and Ravioli. There will also be an introduction to pasta sauces.
Class 2: Vegetables
Tuesday, February 12
Learn how to make Minestrone and Italian-style stuffed vegetables like squash, bell peppers and eggplant.
Class 3: Meat & Fish
Tuesday, February 19
Learn how to make Pollo con Papa en Horno (chicken and potatoes in the oven), Chicken Cordon Bleu, Osso Bucco and Stuffed Calamari.
Class 4: Appetizers & Sweets
Tuesday, February 26
Learn how to make Antipasto, Shrimp Cocktail, Zeppole and Crema Pasticcera.
When: Tuesdays in February (Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26). Classes are scheduled from 10am-2pm each day. Additional classes will be added if there is enough interest.
Cost: $500 pesos per person per day. All materials and ingredients are included. Please bring a pen and notebook for notes.
**Anyone who signs up for all four classes will receive a free “El Gigio” apron.
