“Make a difference, think globally and act locally!” That’s what the International Women’s Day website says to do, so we’re going to do just that. Las Tres Amigas are gathering together as many women as we can fit into Latitude 21 on Friday, March 8 at 1 pm to celebrate the positive advancements that have been made in women’s issues since the early 1900’s.
The proceeds from this event will be targeted at one of the biggest health concerns for women: breast cancer. Our local Cancer de Mama group will be able to make good use of the money raised through this event.
With recommendations from Delma and Jeffrey at Latitude 21 Restaurant, we are offering a special menu for this special luncheon with a choice of either Shrimp Verte in a creamy poblano wine reduction sauce or Pollo Parilla with a mild chileano sauce, a glass of wine, beer or non-alcoholic beverage, and dessert for a minimum donation of $200 pesos. Sue Moss will provide cello music as a delightful background to the lively conversations that are sure to take place. In keeping with the International theme, we encourage you to bring along a friend of another nationality.
Tickets are available from Jeanie Mintzmyer at her Hidden Paradise Real Estate booth or Rick Helberg at his Jaltemba Bay Realty booth at the Guayabitos and La Peñita tianguis, from Hala at Hamaca Maya, from Latitude 21 or by emailing us at email@example.com.
We can’t show pictures yet of this event, but our last event, the Fascinator Hat Tea Party was sold out. With the generous support of those who attended, enough money was raised to provide five students with scholarships to CONALEP next year. As you can see from these pictures, a great time was had by all! Make sure you get in on the fun at the International Women’s Day luncheon. Mark Friday, March 8 on your calendar and be sure to get your tickets early.

About Las Tres Amigas: We are three women (Helma, Maxine and Nora), who one day sat discussing fundraising and how the community needed an afternoon event when Fiesta 2012 at the Bartlett residence was no longer being offered. Two of us had already thought of an afternoon tea and we were off to the races as they say. We have all been involved in our respective communities and have the philosophy of giving back to where you live. We would be delighted to have offers of volunteers for any of the events you find particularly enticing. Our contact e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org
